HOME WATCH

Standard Services Home Watch check visits are typically performed every 7 or 10 days.

 Exterior Check

• Exterior check of grounds, landscape, pests, lawn, and sprinklers
• Remove newspapers, flyers, check the mailbox
• Visual check of outdoor light fixtures
• Visual exterior check including roof (from the ground), screens, windows, AC units, fence
• Turn water ON – “gingerly”
• Enter the home, disarm the security system, if appropriate

 Interior Check

• Check all windows and doors for damage and ensure they are locked
• Visual check for signs of water damage, microbial growth, and mildew
• Cycle the water: brush and flush toilets, run water in sinks (including garbage disposal), tubs, and showers
• Short cycle dishwasher and washer
• Check the water heater – it should be turned OFF at the circuit breaker or on Vacation Mode when the water main is OFF. If there is a Recirculation Pump, that should be OFF. The procedure varies by type of equipment
• Check for signs of insects, pests, and rodents
• Check closets, pantry, and storage cabinets
• Verify AC and humidistat settings; adjust as necessary
• Check refrigerator, freezers, and wine coolers for proper temperature and operation
• Reset clocks after a power outage
• Check circuit breaker panels
• Check garage (including trash) and make sure the door to the garage is locked

Lanai and Pool Area

• Check water level and condition of water
• Check equipment and pool control panel
• Check screen door, screening, and cage structure

Departure

• Final departure: “Look. Listen. Lock.”
• Enable security system, lock doors
• Turn OFF water supply. (Photo showing it “off” will be sent to you with your status report)

This is a very general Home Watch Checklist intended for illustration purposes only.  Each checklist is customized for the property and homeowner requests.

Securing furniture, plants, and other valuables 

At the start of each storm season, we go through all the essentials to make sure your home is ready. Titan Home Watch will bring inside any outdoor furniture, plants, or other valuable belongings to make sure they are sheltered from the storm.

Windows and Storm Shutters 

Titan Home Watch will ensure all windows and sliding glass are properly shut and protected, this includes storm shutters. We will check that automated and/or hydraulic shutter systems are working and shut.  Storm panels will require coordination with contractors when storm panels need to be installed.

Stow Away Potential Projectiles 

Preparing your home for a storm includes stowing away potential harmful projectiles around the exterior of your home that could damage your property, your neighbors, or worse hurt another person. 

Initial Visual Check 

We know how anxious our clients are to know if their home is still standing. Therefore, once a storm has passed, as soon as safely possible we will get to your home within 72 hours. Then, we perform an initial visual check of both the exterior and interior. We will provide you with an initial report (telecommunications permitting) so you can stay informed.

Substantive Detailed Check 

Once we have visited every home to give each client the peace of mind they deserve, we will return and perform a more substantive detailed check of the interior and exterior of your property for obvious damage with a comprehensive report and pictures. We will also begin to take steps to mitigate any further damage, situation permitting.

Coordinating Contractor and Vendor Appointments 

We understand how important it is to restore your home to how it was before the storm. Therefore, we will coordinate contractor visits, document and take pictures of every project, all while keeping you constantly apprised.  Depending on your needs, we can watch over and monitor contractors and vendors, check their progress, and report back – being your eyes and ears.
